Position: Janitor/Housekeeping
Reports to: Day Program Coordinator

Function:
This position requires the employee in this job to perform and oversee a variety of
janitorial, custodial, and/or security task to maintain clean and safe buildings and
grounds.

Know How:
The position requires a person eighteen (18) years of age or older. The Janitor/Housekeeper will keep building in a clean and orderly condition. Perform
cleaning duties such as cleaning the floors, washing the walls and glass, and dusting, cleaning the restrooms, and removing rubies. The position requires the ability to collaborate effectively with the person receiving services, employers, co-workers, family members, related agencies and others. Janitor must also be able to pass all required training courses including but not limited to First Aid, CPR, CPI, Medication Assistant Certification, and VOA Policies & Procedures.
Principal Activities:Activities:
1. Clean and service the restrooms
2. Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors.
3. Gather and disposes of rubbish and waste materials by hand or with the use of powered equipment.
4. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
5. Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
6. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
7. Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies such as a vacuum cleaner, broom, and mop.
8. Clean grounds and parking lots of litter, glass, or other debris.
9. Clean Cafeteria, Chairs, and Tables after snacks and lunch.
10. Meets at least minimum staff development/training requirements in compliance with VOA standards and funding agency requirements.
11. Determines supplies and equipment required for proper cleaning.
