Network Engineer
TLDR - Generally speaking, Engineers design and build new solutions while Administrators maintain existing solutions. Candidates will require a minimum (5+) years of directly related engineering experience designing, implementing and securing critical network infrastructure in enterprise environments. This is not an entry level position.
Block 5 Technologies is a busy and growing MSP in southern NH, looking to add an experienced, customer-facing network engineer to our team! We need a team player to help with network deployments, and assistance with ongoing support of our client environments. We are seeking a candidate with blend of technical and soft-skills that will allow us to provide efficient service to our customers with a white-glove touch.

Please note, due to the many law enforcement agencies we work with, all candidates must be current United States citizens, undergo a thorough criminal background check and complete CJIS Level 4 certification as a requirement of obtaining employment with Block 5 Technologies.
Costs associated with the background checks, visiting a local police department for fingerprinting, being cleared by the FBI for CJIS vendor relations, and completing CJIS Level 4 training will be covered by Block 5 Technologies and completed during employee’s normal business hours.
Although we work with many vendors, our network environments consist primarily of:
Firewalls - Fortinet, SonicWALL
Switching - Aruba, Cisco, Meraki, Dell
Wireless - Fortinet, Aruba, Meraki
This position will start daily out of our Londonderry, NH office and require some light and local daytime travel. This role will typically visit clients to inspect new project prospects, replace critical infrastructure and prepare new systems / upgrades to transition into long term support. Some remote work is available but it's difficult to rack, stack, and cable equipment remotely... with that in mind, this position does come with a well appointed workstation setup and their own office.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Project Team:
- Participate in the planning, implementation and management of:
- Network deployments / upgrades / documentation
- Prospective new client environment assessments
- Infrastructure / Construction Project Upgrades
- Server / Software / Connectivity regarding network infrastructure
Service Team:
- Operate as an upper-tier engineer for T2/T3 escalations
- Provide remote and onsite support to critical customer infrastructure
- Implement and utilize network monitoring tools to identify and resolve issues
- Contribute to process improvement efforts
Required Experience:
- 5+ years of designing and implementing enterprise network infrastructure
- Extensive experience with designing and supporting LAN/WAN/WLAN
- SD-WAN, Multi-WAN Failover, Multi-Site IPSEC VPN
- Switching, routing, BGP, VLANS, VPN, DHCP, DNS
- Core/Edge switching, segmentation, security, remote access
- Monitoring WAN circuits, firewalls, security advisories and patching of related equipment
- Demonstrable advanced Tier 2+ troubleshooting skills
- Creating and maintaining network diagrams for new and existing environments
- Implementation and design (upgrades / greenfield / new construction)
