Exceptional Health is a concierge internal medicine practice located in Wellesley, MA. We are seeking an experienced fulltime Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner who is detail oriented and organized to join our team. Our objective is to find an individual to provide detailed, comprehensive, and professional coordination of patient care. This staff member should be energetic with the ability to multitask, and be pro-active in anticipating the needs of the physician and patients. The individual should be able to document and deliver information/medical care in a clear and concise manner (verbal and written). This position is 80% clinical and 20% administrative.
Principle Clinical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, counseling, and teaching in a timely manner in collaboration with physician and team.
- Medical Reception - Answer directed telephone calls and appropriately document and direct information.
- Prepare charts for daily patient appointments and comprehensive examinations.
- Schedule and arrange diagnostic appointments, and specialty consultations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate appropriate lab and diagnostic tests to assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs and then communicate results to physician and patient.
- Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
- Counsel and educates patients on issues of health maintenance, behavior, normal social and physical growth and development.
- Instruct patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provides patient education.
- Make independent nursing judgments, collaborating with physicians in managing medical needs of patients.
- Provide telephone consultation, follow-up phone calls, and triage patient telephone calls.
- Monitor and provide continuity of care between physician visits.
Required Experience/Abilities/Competencies:
- PA/NP –Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program/NP program
- Appropriate Massachusetts licensure as well as Board certification
- Maintain current BLS/ACLS certification
- DEA for prescription writing.
- 2-4+ years of relevant clinical patient care experience.
- EHR (EPIC experience required)
- General knowledge of the equipment, materials, procedures, and terminology used in internal medicine practice.
- Showing initiative and professionalism while striving to provide consistent high-quality support to the physician and co-workers.
- The ability to prioritize quality patient care and satisfaction.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and patients.
- Comfortable working independently and in collaboration with staff and outside providers.
- Computer competency: Web based applications,
- Maintain patient confidentiality to maintain HIPAA compliant information.
- Investigative capability and the skills to interact and assist patients in a positive and professional manner.
- Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care.
- Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.
- Skill in taking medical history to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
- Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence.
- Skill in developing and maintaining quality assurance.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Application of learned routines, procedures, and practices.
- Maintain a high level of organization and time management across several projects at once.
- Strong work ethic and desire for excellence to deliver the highest quality of work.
