Vista Del Mar provides a trauma-responsive continuum of services to empower children, youth, and families in Southern California to lead fulfilling lives.
Role Overview:
The Clinician I - Wraparound/IFCCS renders direct social work/clinical services to children and parents in a manner to ensure maximum benefits to the child and parents. Emphasis is placed on work with the families and the children utilizing strength-based principles and values and community referral, as well as a psychotherapeutic approach.
Essential Job Duties (other duties may be assigned):
- Provides therapeutic services and/or clinical coordination services to each child assigned to the clinician;
- Completes required documentation in a timely manner and within the time frames established by Los Angeles County's Department of Mental Health, as well as this agency;
- Formulates and implements an overall coordinated services plan for each child and family in their caseload in cooperation with the Wraparound/IFCCS team, client and family members;
- Meets regularly with the child and parents for individual and family therapy;
- Formulates and implements an overall treatment plan for each child and family in his/her caseload, in conjunction with the wraparound/IFCCS team;
- Maintains contact and working relationship with child/family specialist staff and VDM School personnel and to be informed of each child's ongoing academic and behavioral functioning;
- Maintains a flexible schedule that includes home visits, work in the community and hours convenient to the youth and family;
- Facilitates group therapy and recreation therapy as assigned or needed;
What You Bring to VDM:
- Must have a Master's degree from a recognized program of social work or marriage and family therapy (MSW, MFT, LPC);
- LCSW, LMFT-eligible
- 1-2 years of experience preferred
- Valid CA Drivers License
- Knowledge of physical and emotional developmental stages for children ages 7-17
Salary: $66,560 / year
