Bennett’s recent growth has resulted in a need for a skilled Field Service Engineer - Controls, to join our growing team.
GENERAL SUMMARY
This full-time salary exempt position is responsible for the implementation and support of programmable logic controllers located in our clean fuels dispensers. The incumbent will work as part of a team to implement new requirements in existing controllers, support new product commissioning activities, and resolve ongoing sustaining issues. The incumbent will work in a professional manner consistent with producing high quality designs, which meet customer requirements at the lowest cost in the shortest possible time. This position will be located in the Quality and Service Department. Travel of up to 50% is expected with the majority being domestic
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive the commissioning of new clean fuels dispensers (hydrogen, CNG, LNG) located throughout North America – some international travel also expected
- Develop robust processes for starting up new equipment in a reliable, safe, and efficient manner
- Experience with PLC software development, verification and support
- Root cause failures and correction as appropriate providing feedback to the team for future product improvements.
- Support new product development initiatives by providing PLC and functional safety guidance
- Provide creative new product or existing product ideas to the organization.
- Insist on high quality; lowest cost designs that meet customer requirements.
- Execute projects as assigned

Education: A Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical & Industry Experience:
- A minimum of three years experience in the design and debugging of PLC based equipment
- Experience with Siemens PLCs is preferred
- A minimum of three years experience supporting field issues with a robust history of on-site and remote troubleshooting
- Experience with process safety per IEC61511 or equivalent standard
- The ability to complete tasks assigned with minimal supervision
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform Algebraic, Geometric, and advanced mathematic calculations.
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions. Ability to write and understand complex correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be fluent in English. Proficient in other languages a plus.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a variety of variables in non-standardized situations.

The employee may travel up to 50% domestically (10% international) throughout the year. Trips will last anywhere from several days up to 2 weeks at a time.
