Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for our Medical/Surgical unit. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care to a diverse range of patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical/surgical nursing, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Our Medical/Surgical unit is a Level II Trauma Center, providing a challenging and rewarding experience for nurses who are passionate about delivering patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including triage, assessments, and interventions
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, including working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Administer medications and treatments, including dermal fillers, as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team
- Participate in infection control measures, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and outcomes
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment options, and self-care techniques
- Provide dementia care to patients with cognitive impairments
- Work closely with the Workers' Compensation team to ensure that patients receive the necessary care and support
- Participate in critical care situations, including critical care and primary care
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuing education, staying up-to-date on the latest medical technologies and best practices
- Perform CT scans and other imaging procedures as needed
- Utilize electronic medical records to document patient care and communicate with the healthcare team
Skills:
- Current RN license and certification
- Experience working in a Medical/Surgical unit or Level II Trauma Center
- Strong understanding of medical and surgical procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with CT scans and other imaging procedures
- Knowledge of infection control measures and dementia care
- Familiarity with Workers' Compensation law
- Certification in critical care or primary care
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to continuing education and staying current on best practices in medical/surgical nursing
