Copperleaf Senior Living is in search of a PT/FT 1st shift caregivers to join our team at our North Haven location. The work hours for this position are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. This position includes working every other weekend and rotating holidays.

qualifications:

previous experience working with the elderly, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment

sincere love and compassion for the elderly

ability to work cooperatively with co-workers and managers in a responsible, professional manner

ability to communicate a concern or complaint in a constructive, positive manner

ability to comply with the dress code by wearing nametag, solid colored scrubs, walkie talkies, and pagers

caregiver responsibilities:
personal care
- assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- help residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety
medication management
- administer medications according to prescribed schedules
- monitor and document any changes in residents’ health conditions
health monitoring
- keep track of resident’s vital signs and report any concerns to management or primary care physician
- monitor changes in health conditions and report them to the appropriate personnel
assistance with meals
- assist residents during meal times, ensuring they receive proper nutrition
- monitor special dietary needs and restrictions
companionship and engagement
- engage in conversation and provide companionship to residents
- assist with recreational activities and encourage participation
housekeeping and maintenance
- help maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
- perform light housekeeping duties, such as making beds and tidying rooms
communication
- communicate effectively with residents, their families, outside agencies, and other staff members
- report any concerns or changes in residents’ conditions to appropriate personnel
record keeping
- maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided by utilizing ECP
- document any incidents, observations, or changes in residents’ condition in ECP
emotional support
- provide emotional support to residents
- assist residents in coping with the challenges of aging or health issues
emergency response
- be trained to respond to emergencies and follow established protocols
- ensure the safety and well-being of residents during emergency situations
collaboration
- collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, therapies, to ensure comprehensive care for residents
- attend staff meetings and training sessions as required, as well as maintaining the required 15 hours of continuing education credits
supervision:
this position reports directly to the Director/Administrator
