SUMMARY
Advantage Environmental Consultants, LLC (AEC) is seeking an entry to mid level Staff Environmental Scientist to join our team. This position is open to 0-4 years of experience and environmental consulting, wetland science, or related fields. This position operates primarily out of our Jessup, Maryland office and will entail office work for the majority of time, however travel to the field will be required periodically. This position will focus on the completion of Phase I environmental site assessments, Property Condition Assessments, and related environmental reviews. A portion of the work will entail the completion of wetland surveys and/or forest stand delineations. Occasional travel throughout Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic region will be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of this position include the following:
· Performing Phase I Environmental Assessments
· Perform Property Condition Assessments and
· Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
· Performing hazardous materials surveys in commercial buildings
· Conducting vapor intrusion assessments
· Complete Wetland Delineations and/or Forest Stand Delineations
· Interacting and communicating daily with clients, regulators, and contractors
· Assisting project managers with report preparation and other day-to-day tasks
QUALIFICATIONS
A qualified candidate must exhibit the following:
· Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology or a related discipline is required
· Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
· Must be able to provide reliable transportation for daily commute to job sites as necessary – mileage will be reimbursed or a company vehicle will be provided
· May require occasional travel out of town or night/weekend work
· Basic knowledge of computer operations and standard software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe)
· Excellent communication skills, exceptional writing skills, and ability to work on multiple projects concurrently as part of a team
· OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training is preferred but not required
· Prior Wetland Experience and training is preferred but not required
