We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Front of House Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality, a keen understanding of exceptional service, and a passion for the culinary arts. This role requires someone who is adept at managing reservations, staffing, and payroll, while also maintaining a visible presence on the restaurant floor to ensure the highest service standards are met.

Salt Wharf is a high-end waterfront restaurant located on the picturesque Camden waterfront. Known for our exquisite menu and one of the best chefs in Maine, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dining experiences. Our restaurant features a lower- level dining area and an upper rooftop bar, offering a stunning view and a delightful ambiance.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Hospitality:
- Uphold and promote Salt Wharf’s high standards of hospitality and exceptional service.
- Ensure that all guests receive a warm welcome and a memorable dining experience.
- Continuously improve service standards to exceed guest expectations.
Staff Management:
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and scheduling of front-of-house staff.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate updates, standards, and feedback.
- Foster a positive and motivating work environment.
Reservations & Floor Management:
- Manage reservations efficiently to maximize table occupancy and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain an organized and accurate reservation system.
- Supervise the dining area, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any guest concerns promptly.
Administrative Duties:
- Handle payroll, scheduling, and other administrative tasks.
- Monitor and control labor costs to meet budgetary requirements.
- Assist in developing and implementing operational policies and procedures.
Wine & Culinary Knowledge:
- Collaborate with the chef and kitchen staff to stay informed about menu changes and specials.
- Culinary experience is a plus, providing a deeper understanding of the food service operations.
- A strong background in wine is a plus, to assist guests with selections and maintain an updated wine list in collaboration with house Sommelier.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Front of House Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar role.
- Strong background in hospitality and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Knowledgeable in wine with the ability to make recommendations and manage a wine list.
- Experience with scheduling, payroll, and administrative duties.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Culinary experience or education is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
