Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Radiologic Technologist must be competent in the following:
- Explaining the procedure to the patient
- Positioning the patient properly
- Positioning Radiation protection devices such as lead shields
- Setting X-ray equipment at the correct angle and height over the appropriate area of a patient's body
- Setting Controls on the X-ray machine to produce X-rays or radiographs of the appropriate density, detail, and contract.
- Placing exposure board beneath and under the part of the patient'sbody to be examined and make the exposure
- Computer knowledge
- Transmitting images via web-based PACs system
- Following the Physician's instructions and orders precisely
- Keeping patient records and adjusting/maintaining equipment
- Ability to travel short and long distances to place of service
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required
- TMB- Texas Medical License required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- TX driver's license with a clean record required
