Variety is looking for a top notch Chef to oversee one of our schools in the Metamora, OH area. This is a great opportunity to be creative and provide great food to children! This role will also be responsible for any caterings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Establishes and implements quality standards for the presentation and service of food.
· Implements a customer service driven philosophy that focuses on value, satisfaction and continued program improvement. Sanitation, Food Safety, and Employee Safety.
· Maintains an active ServSafe Certificate for self with a maximum renewal of each three years and promotes the certification of all foodservice employees whenever and wherever possible.
· Establishes procedures based on HACCP and Local Government guidelines to ensure that food is prepared and served in a sanitary and safe environment at all times.
· Maintains all required documentation as it pertains to HACCP and Local Government and Variety Food Services standards and directives.
· Develops and integrates employee safety regulations into all phases of the foodservice operation.
· Assures compliance with all client safety and risk management policies and guidelines as it relates to the physical location.
· Submits all financial and administrative data as requested on a timely basis and as instructed.
· Analyzes all available data to improve operations.
· Follows all purchasing guidelines to ensure purchased food and supplies reflect product knowledge, customer preferences, district needs, policies, and nutrition objectives.
· Implements and establishes applicable (HACCP/GAAP) standards for receiving, storing, and inventorying food and non-food supplies based on sound principles of management.
Requirements:
· Must have a minimum of 3+ years as a GM with an executive chef background.
· Must have and maintain a ServSafe Certification as a Food Service Manager and a Certification in ServSafe Allergen training.
· Must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts from an Accredited School.
· Applicants with experience in full service catering is a plus and will be highly considered.
