Position: School Recess/Physical Activity Coordinator (Coach part-time position)

Location: San Jose, South San Jose, Campbell, Cupertino, Los Altos, Los Gatos, Palo Alto, Mountain View, Saratoga, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale.

Position Overview: We are looking for passionate, fun, well-rounded individuals who have the desire and eagerness to work with today's youth in an academic school setting at an assigned Recess 101's partner school site located in the Bay Area for the 2024-2025 academic school year.
This Position Starts: The week of August 5, 2024 and will continue throughout the 2024/2025 Academic School Year ending around June 14, 2025. Working hours are between 8:30am - 2:30pm. (Exact work hours to be determined based on assigned school site.) Consistent, same work schedule Monday through Friday. 20 - 25 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to: The Recess 101 Coach (Site Manager) will be responsible for overseeing recess, facilitate physical activity classes, and implement students' leadership program at an assigned school site for the entire academic year. Must have the ability to be physically active on the job. A demonstrated ability to teach physical activities, coordinate, motivate students and good sense of humor. Experience in the following is beneficial: Physical education, sports, athletic ability, teaching ability, creating a fun environment, being a role model. Keeping your time organized and communicating clearly to students, parents, and other educators also makes your job easier and more enriching. A passion for helping children learn skills they can use in their daily lives outside of the classroom.
The Recess 101 Coach (Site Manager) will receive training and ongoing support by their assigned Regional Manager.
Required Qualifications/Expectations:
- Clear background check
- Negative Tuberculosis Test (TB) or PPD skin test.
- CPR Certified
- Prior experiences or background in Education, Kinesiology, After school programs, Teaching, Health Education, Sports Coach, Physical Education and Health, Sports/Athletic Director, Youth Development, Recreational Leader, Camp Counselor, Site Coordinator.
- Experience working with youth in an academic school setting or any youth setting. Previous experience working with youth ages K-5 and or middle school (6 - 8) age in any physical activity setting or recreational field is a plus.
- Ability to commit the whole academic school year. Must be reliable and have the ability to be physically active.
- Ability to communicate, read and write an effective email.
- Must have a professional attitude with strong work ethic.
- Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population/community.
- Ability to be a team player - able to adapt and meet changing needs of job demands.
- Ability to accept constructive feedback.
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and problem solve effectively.
- Have good sense of humor and willingness to have fun.
Job Type: Part-time position. Working hours are between 8:30am - 2:30pm. (Exact work hours to be determined based on assigned school site.) Consistent schedule Monday through Friday. 20-25 hours per week.
Compensation: $2,200.00 - $2,800.00 monthly income ($25 - $32 an hour) depending on experience and work hours. (Pay time off for Holidays and additional days such as "Winter and Spring Break" (Following Recess 101's pay time off policy.)
