Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospice Aide to join our dedicated team. The Hospice Aide is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional care while adhering to the highest standards of medical ethics and patient confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Assist with medication management, including preparing medication administration records and administering medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Support patients with infectious disease care, including providing isolation care and adhering to proper infection control techniques.
- Utilize aseptic technique to maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Assist with lifting and transferring patients, adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families, including helping them cope with the emotional aspects of end-of-life care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure that patient needs are met and that care is delivered in accordance with patient preferences and values.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain knowledge of hospice care and related medical practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) or hospice aide training program.
- Current certification as a CNA .
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in hospice or palliative care.
- Strong anatomy knowledge and ability to perform lifting and transferring duties safely.
- Familiarity with and the ability to provide care for patients.
- Understanding of the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay: $16.68 - $20.09 per hour
