Full-Time Firefighter / Paramedic
Our full-time staff are the lead on their shift. The duties and responsibilities are responding to all types of emergencies, conducting drills for EMS and firefighting, assisting with fire prevention activities, and maintaining facilities, grounds and equipment. This position works a 48/96 shift schedule and has the opportunity for promotion to Lieutenant. Full – Time Firefighters are represented by the International Association of Firefighters, IAFF Local 851. There is one open position, and we are establishing a hiring list.
To qualify for this position, you will need:
· NFPA Firefighter I
· Oregon Paramedic
· Wildland Interface Firefighter Type II
· NFPA Driver and Apparatus Operator Equipped with a Pump
· NFPA Hazardous Materials Operations
Salary & Benefits:
Wages $62,841 - $75,024 includes FLSA Pay
Benefits package including:
· Medical + Dental + Vision for employee and family - 100% paid by the City.
· HRA VEBA contributions - paid by the City of Oakridge
· City provided Life Insurance Benefit - $50,000
· Employees accrue vacation/holiday starting at 264 hours per year
· 24 hours of sick time per month
· Oregon PERS is 100% paid as the City pays both the Employee’s and Employer’s 6%

Part-Time Firefighter/Intermediate or Paramedic
Our part-time staff are an important part of our team. They are employed through a Temp Service and have a flexible schedule. This is a great opportunity to gain ALS transport experience as well as experience in all phases of fire and EMS operations. We provide training and mentorship to help you get your dream job. Our part-time staff members have moved on to Eugene/Springfield, South Lane, Albany, Corvallis, and Estacada just to name a few. Several of our part-time staff work for other agencies and pick up extra shifts with us.
To qualify for this position, you need:
· Firefighter I
· Oregon Paramedic or Intermediate
Wages & Benefits
· $20 per hour Paramedic
· $18 per hour Intermediate
· 40 hours per year sick leave

· 24-hour shifts
Temporary Firefighter/EMT
This position is for up-staffing during fire season. The expected date range is July 1st to October 31st.
To qualify for this position, you need:
· Firefighter I
· EMT
· Wildland Interface Firefighter Type II
· Pay is $20 per hour, 40 hrs per week, no benefits
