Develops job plans, strategies and advanced work schedules for predictive and preventive maintenance systems. Assists in planning corrective maintenance and facility modifications to equipment. Partners with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to build reliable maintenance systems to reduce equipment downtime, and promote a planned proactive state through validated procedures. Records and maintains facility equipment assets and inventory data within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Reviews maintenance equipment records and work order requests for accuracy, necessity and completeness prior to developing job plans. Coordinates with supervisors and skilled personnel for troubleshooting and scheduling repairs of failed assets as needed for equipment reliability. Records maintenance data to improve job planning and optimal scheduling of workforce to perform work tasks. Requisitions parts, materials, equipment, and contract services prior to releasing planned work orders. Develops, maintains and analyzes labor, time, level of planning, wrench time, equipment statistics, data reports and cost estimates for scheduling and planning. Develops, utilizes and maintains Maintenance libraries (equipment bills of materials, prints, OEM, O&M, drawings, catalogs, SOPs, etc.) for systems and equipment. Develops, maintains and revises preventive maintenance (PM) program, including development of activity and task codes and schedules through CMMS software. Develops, organizes and maintains inventory of parts, materials and equipment for region of responsibility for equipment reliability. Performs field inspections to determine appropriate job work scopes. Stages, ships and physically receives required materials, tools, supplies, and equipment for planned jobs. Provides financial supports with budget costs, contract reconciliation to invoices, and disputes when required. Distributes work assignments in absence of supervisors when approved by management. Coordinates job plans with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure job preparation is complete and Operation's downtime is kept at a minimum for equipment efficiency. Supports Safety and Security with understanding of safety principles, practices, and coordination of inspections. Documents necessary revisions of maintenance data prior to work order closeout. Performs additional duties as required.
Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical equipment and its maintenance; knowledge of project management; skill in operating a PC and associated Windows environment software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, etc.); ability to read blueprints and shop drawings; ability to understand continuous improvements and implement effective changes; ability to develop and maintain work projects using CMMS; ability to schedule and plan an effective preventive and corrective maintenance program using CMMS; ability to research and procure maintenance parts; ability to communicate effectively through oral presentation and written documentation with sketching for jobs; ability to manage multiple priorities; ability to organize work effectively; ability to operate a fork lift/bridge crane; ability to maintain accurate records; ability to work effectively under heavy, unpredictable surges in workload; ability to work 24 hour emergency response, various shifts and weekends.
Associate Degree in a related field; four or more years of related experience in maintenance, maintenance planning or other similar industrial environment; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have safe work and driving habits.
