Rural Electric Supply Cooperative (RESCO), is a member-owned wholesale distributor of high voltage electrical products. As one of the largest full-line distributors in the Midwest, we provide strength in numbers with competitive pricing on materials, coordinated and efficient delivery throughout our service territory and top-rated customer support. We are looking for a Sales Account Manager/Project Coordinator to join our team. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with our generation and transmission customers. The home base for this role can be in Minnesota, North or South Dakota. Responsibilities of this position include:
- Plan monthly visits with assigned G&T members/customers and investor-owned utilities to develop relationships.
- Develop short- and long-term strategy to increase sales and market share in territory.
- Focus efforts and sales plan toward achieving specific business goals.
- Learn all technical features of transmission and substation products offered by RESCO suppliers.
- Promote products and introduce solutions to address customer needs and problems.
- Work with inside sales to strategize on major bids and determine sales approach.
- Manage all aspects of awarded projects to coordinate ordering, packaging and delivery of materials.
- Manage and communicate with warehouse and customer on logistics for delivery of project materials.
- Interact and travel with RESCO manufacturers to promote products and provide technical assistance as required.
- Communicate suggestions to improve market share, customer services and additional stock items or product lines.
- Represent RESCO at industry related conferences and trade shows.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in business or related technical field along with three to five years of experience in outside sales. Other qualifications include:
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism and ethical behavior
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
- Good presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office products
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to travel up to 65% of the time with one to two overnight trips during the week
