Human Resource Assistant
Department: Bene-Care HR Consulting Division
Reports To: HR Consulting Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
Employment Status: Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
Position Summary
The Human Resource Assistant works in the HR Consulting Division and performs administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the department. This position involves a wide range of support activities for the HR division, including coordinating meetings, assisting clients with onboarding/offboarding, and upkeeping databases. The Human Resource Assistant will act as a liaison between clients, employees, internal colleagues, and the HR Consultants by ensuring smooth communication and prompt resolution of requests and questions. This position will assist in creating policies, processes, and documents.
Essential Expectations and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the new hire process for clients with tasks including: developing offer letters, processing background checks, and scheduling drug screen appointments;

Oversee the termination process for clients with tasks including but not limited to: developing separation letters, cancelling employee benefits, and sending unemployment information, as required;

Process applications on behalf of clients for Unemployment, Family Medical Leave Act, Disability, and Paid Family Leave; monitor claim payments;

Transform PDFs into fillable documents;

Produce and edit employee handbooks and addendums for applicable states, in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations;

Create proposals for new clients or services requested;

Update HRIS systems including but not limited to HR Support Center, Office Daily, Bene-Pay and isolved;

Follow up with potential clients by emailing HR Slicks or scheduling needs assessments, as necessary;

Monitor and respond to HR division inbox;

Assisting with client recruitment efforts;

Respond or coordinate internal questions from colleagues regarding HR matters;

Manage HR Consultant calendars for appointment scheduling; reserve meeting spaces as needed;

Develop and continually update spreadsheet for client policy numbers, passwords, and contacts;

Initiate HR communication updates for both internal and external purposes;

Assist clients with compliance-related tasks such as labor law posters, trainings, and applications;

Must be able to learn and process payroll as required.

Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- High School diploma or equivalent;

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Excel, Outlook, Word; Zoom, Fox-It

Must have strong attention to detail and possess an analytical, research-oriented mind set;

Maturity in dealing with sensitive and confidential information is required;

Ability to meet deadlines and maintain an effective workday schedule;

Ability to work effectively within a team and independently;

Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization and ability to multi-task is required.
