Warren Averett Recruiting is looking for an experienced structural engineer professional for an established company in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will have more than 5 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Make calculations using engineering formulas and skills for design of wood, steel, masonry and concrete structures
- Write scope of work for design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client.
- Prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new systems and analyze operation of existing systems.
- Serve as project engineer on smaller, single discipline jobs.
- Knowledge of applicable codes. Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required.
- Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within company and externally with clients and other design professionals.
- Proficient written and oral communications skills.
- Prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and scope of project.
- Promote use of and participate in development of company design and production standards.
- Assist in the education and development of design staff and act as resource for design questions.
- Directs designers and CAD technicians for the generation of construction drawings.
- Oversees and is responsible for the overall technical aspects of project.
- Prepares reports and recommendations for the approval of department manager concerning direction of project.
- Provide interdisciplinary checks.
- May serve as a field engineer during construction.
- May participate in presentations and sales effort.
- Checks all technical calculations and drawings for accuracy.
- Attends seminars on relevant subjects so as to stay in touch with the latest design techniques.
- Maintains communications between project engineer and department manager to assure schedule and budget accuracy.
- Keep personal data updated to reflect current experience, training, registration and professional areas of expertise.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or similar
- PE License
- Experience in concrete, steel, and wood construction
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
