What You’ll Do
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Time Critical Airfreight Manager to lead our time-sensitive airfreight logistics team in Belleville, MI. This role is pivotal in managing and expanding our domestic and international time-critical airfreight operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency and time critical airfreight logistics, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to develop and implement strategies to enhance our service offerings and network.

Leadership & Team Management: Lead and manage a team of airfreight specialists, ensuring high performance and professional development. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture. Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of logistics professionals to execute time critical airfreight projects efficiently and effectively.

Operations Management: Oversee and coordinate domestic and international time-critical airfreight shipments. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for time-critical shipments.

Service Development: Identify opportunities to enhance our service offerings and implement innovative solutions. Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop new business opportunities.

Provider / Agent / Carrier Development: Identify and establish relationships with providers and carriers to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions for time-critical shipments. Build and maintain a robust network of international agents and partners. Negotiate contracts and establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders.

Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and efficiency of time critical airfreight operations, adjusting as necessary to optimize performance.

Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices and leverage technology to streamline operations.

Customer Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for high-profile clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery for special airfreight projects. Address and resolve any escalations or issues promptly and effectively.

Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, while also identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with operations.

Integration: Lead the integration / collaboration of the time critical airfreight team with our On Demand Team for a full 24/7 operation that can leverage synergies with existing capabilities for our Belleville, MI Head Office.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Proven track record of success in a leadership role within the logistics industry, with specific experience in managing time-critical airfreight shipments.

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in airfreight logistics, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.

Strong understanding of transportation modes, including air freight, and familiarity with customs clearance procedures.

Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of professionals.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and customers.

Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term plans while also managing day-to-day operations effectively.

Proficiency in logistics software and systems, with the ability to leverage technology to optimize airfreight operations.
