```Duties:```
- Provide driving instruction to students in a safe and professional manner
- Teach students the rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and proper vehicle handling
- Conduct driving lessons in various vehicle types, including vans, box trucks, and tow trucks
- Demonstrate and explain mechanical knowledge related to vehicle operation and maintenance
- Assist students in developing good driving habits and skills necessary for safe and responsible driving
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and lesson plans

- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct and interact with students
- Experience in driving various vehicle types, such as vans, box trucks, or tow trucks
- Knowledge of traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, and vehicle maintenance
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and skill levels
- Patience, professionalism, and a passion for teaching others how to drive safely

programs which deal with adults ages 55 and older. This individual will report to the Program Manager in charge of the program area.
Examples of Duties
- Lead activities for various adult programs and events
- Set-up and clean-up before and after programs
- Provide supervision and assistance for adult programs and trips
- Assist with various preparations for out of town trips.
- Assist participants who may require one-on-one assistance
Typical Qualifications
- Ability to motivate, lead and supervise participants. Self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Ability to uphold departmental policy and procedure in a firm, consistent manner
- Ability to use tact when communicating with controversies and contrary participants
- Ability to lead and motivate adults in a variety of recreation activities
- Good communication skills & ability to work well with peers and participants
- Ability to drive mini-van and/or 15 passenger mini-bus as needed
- Must demonstrate dependability, integrity, punctuality, flexibility & ability to problem solve
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Must provide reliable transportation to all work sites
- Prefer previous experience in working with older adults in a recreational setting
Driver:
- Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License
- Assist in care & maintenance of City of Bloomington vehicles, as required
- Will adhere to program schedule/transportation schedule determined by Program Manager
- Safely transport participants of varying abilities to/from scheduled programs
Minimum age: 21
Required Certifications: CPR and First Aid (preferred)
