Established fabrication shop looking for a welder/fabricator with a minimum 5 years’ experience. A strong work ethic and a flexible schedule are required.
Applicants must be proficient with MIG (GMAW) welding processes, basic lay-outs, and industry standard shop tools. Qualified candidates will be asked to perform a weld test.
SUMMARY: Welder’s work with a variety of metals and equipment in fitting and assembling metal components to form structures. Performing MIG and other types of welds based on project needs is required. Welders are also responsible for cleaning, cutting, processing, de-burring and grinding materials as necessary. All welders must be able to read and interpret build drawings and other written instructions to perform tasks at hand.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
-Fuse metal materials together using high heat equipment and welding processes such as MIG, TIG welding.
-Safely operate hand welding and flame cutting equipment such as oxyacetylene torches and plasma cutters.
-Ability to read and comprehend build drawings to accurately construct a wide variety of structures.
-Monitor and maintain all shop equipment.
-Ability to perform welds in flat, overhead, or vertical positions.
-Ability to use a variety of shop tools for cutting, bending, rolling, and grinding various materials.
-Perform lay-outs for various shop projects.
-Communicate between various departments to accurately construct a variety of structures.
-Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
-Upholding the highest standards for quality and safety.
-Providing a basic set of hand tools common to a welder such as: Tape measures, welpers, chisels, squares, wrenches, etc.
-Ability to work a flexible work schedule and\or overtime as needed based on business demands.
-Ensure safety protocols by wearing protective equipment such as gloves, boots, masks, safety glasses, ear protection, etc.
Entry salary is based on experience, knowledge, and performance. Applicants with current AWS welding certifications GMAW 2G+ and aluminum up to ½” are preferred.
