Role: Sr. Container Platforms Engineer - OpenShift/ Kubernetes

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and optimize Kubernetes-based container platform solutions to meet the scalability, performance, and security requirements of our cloud-native applications.
- Lead the architectural design and implementation of core platform components, including cluster orchestration, networking, storage, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define platform requirements, design solutions, and drive technical initiatives from conception to deployment.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools and practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to the Kubernetes platform, container runtime, and underlying infrastructure.
- Establish and enforce security policies, access controls, and compliance standards to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and provide technical guidance and support to foster a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
- Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to container platforms.
- Provide platform support via on-call rotation as required.
- Assist with production operations in a 24/7 environment.
Knowledge and Experience
- Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering
- 2+ years of experience building self-managed Kubernetes-based container platforms in a production environment
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, components, and ecosystem, with hands-on experience in Kubernetes deployment, configuration, and operation
- Strong understanding of container networking, storage, security, and observability principles, with the ability to design and implement scalable and resilient solutions
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Bash, Golang, or equivalent for automation and tooling
- Demonstrated expertise in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools and practices (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automating infrastructure provisioning and configuration
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with OpenShift
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies and services such as Docker, Podman, Prometheus, Grafana, and Helm
- Certifications like Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator are a plus
