Position Summary
With limited direction or supervision, this machine set-up/operator position requires the set-up and/or operation of header equipment. The incumbent will possess and demonstrate the skills necessary to maintain production requirements and quality standards.
.Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Operating understanding of cold heading machines.
- Set up and operate Formax 34's, 44's, 54's.
- Remove and Install Punch & Die Packs, Transfer, and Dies as needed
(Rough In Changeover).
- Set-up, adjust, and operate equipment as required.
- Read and understand prints.
- Perform first piece inspection, monitor the quality of all parts, and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Maintain clean, orderly work area
- Train team members on all work standards.
- Assist other operators as needed
- Perform the duties required to record data for SPC, ISO/IATF 16949 documentation.
- Suggest process improvement ideas.
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications-Education/Experience
Required:
- Ability to use all gauges and gauging techniques required.
- Knowledge in IATF16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.
- Ability to set-up and operate one or more sizes/types of manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to consistently meet production and quality standards
- Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of all required operator documentation.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, including written communication as needed.
- Ability to identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems.
- Leadership skill and ability to train others.
- Use math skills for blueprint reading, gauging and SPC.
- Demonstrate the understanding of the manufacturing process and machine requirements to perform basic and repetitive work assignments.

- Previous problem solving and troubleshooting skills/experience.
- Must comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and practices.
Preferred:
- Minimum one to three years’ experience in a direct or related field.
- Formal mechanical or technical training.
- Forklift operation/material-handling experience.
