JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Medical Assistant
REPORTS TO: Medical Director
STATUS: Regular Full Time
SALARY: Negotiable

RESPONSIBILITIES:
(MA - Front Office)
- Greet clients and guest as they arrive.
- Retrieve incoming calls and transfer or take messages as appropriated.
- Schedule appointments, register patients into electronic records system as they check in/check out.
- Collect patient’s insurance card, photo ID and all pertinent information for patient registration.
- Assist with collecting and posting co-pays.
- Contact patients for reminder calls 24 hours in advance.
- Contact clients to schedule appointments when they No Show an appointment.
- Prepare all forms and documents for scanning and faxing.
- Providing a safe, clean and professional environment. (Lobby area.)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
(MA - Back Office)
- Assist with prepping patients for procedures under the direct supervision of a physician or clinic manager.
- Triage patients on-site or telephone under the direct supervision of a physician or clinic manager including the necessary vital signs for treatment.
- Document patient’s medical history, medications, social history, family history and other pertinent information needed for treatment.
- Administer ordered injections and vaccines under the supervision of the ordering physician.
- Assist with pharmacy calls and medication refills.
- Monitor supplies and place orders as necessary.
- Stock exam rooms.
- Assist with retrieving test results when results are not electronically integrated.
- Assist with recruiting and collecting patients and patients’ data for studies.
- Assist with collecting and preparing specimens for processing labs.
- Order and prepare vaccine information for Department of Health (DOH).
- Provide a safe, clean, and professional environment. (Exam rooms.)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Hours of Work:
8:30 am – 5:30 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
9: 00 am – 2:00 pm Saturday
Qualifications: Applicants must have the appropriate training and certification as a medical assistant relevant experience, particularly venipuncture. Have the capacity to work under pressure and with challenging patients.
