Job Title: Configuration Manager
Location - On Site with option of Hybrid later
We are looking for a seasoned Configuration Manager to join our IT team. As a Configuration Manager, you will play a critical role in managing and safeguarding our software configurations, ensuring the integrity and consistency of our software products across all stages of development and deployment. You will be responsible for implementing configuration management practices, tools, and policies to support software development, build management, version control, and release processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development lifecycle management, a deep understanding of configuration management principles, and excellent organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Configuration Management (CM) plan, defining the CM processes and procedures to manage the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Oversee the maintenance of configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products.
- Coordinate with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure that configuration management practices are followed and integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Manage version control systems and processes, ensuring that all source code, documentation, configurations, and artifacts are properly stored, versioned, and tracked.
- Facilitate and manage the change control process, including the submission, analysis, decision making, and implementation of changes to the configured items.
- Conduct configuration audits to verify the completeness and correctness of configured items and ensure compliance with specified requirements.
- Participate in the release management process, ensuring that all releases are properly packaged, documented, and transitioned to operations for deployment.
- Train and guide team members on best practices in configuration management and the use of CM tools and processes.
- Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in configuration management to continuously improve the CM processes and tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration management, software development, or a related area within IT.
- Strong understanding of configuration management principles, practices, and standards such as ITIL, CMMI, or ISO/IEC 20000.
- Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN), configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef), and software build tools (e.g., Jenkins, Maven).
- Experience with automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical team members.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment is preferred.

Pay: $102,500.00 - $105,000.00 per year
