The Role:
As our Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Busy Bee Organics. Your responsibilities will include:
- Menu Development & Innovation: Craft seasonal, creative menus that showcase organic ingredients and cater to diverse dietary needs (gluten-free, etc.).
- Recipe Creation & Standardization: Develop and refine recipes to ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation across our offerings.
- Food Cost Management: Manage food costs effectively while maintaining the integrity of our organic and high-quality ingredients.
- Lead & Mentor Culinary Team: Provide leadership and mentorship to our kitchen staff, fostering a positive, collaborative, and learning environment.
- Quality Control & Safety: Uphold the highest standards for food safety and quality control throughout the entire food preparation process.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory management, optimizing ordering and minimizing waste.
- Vendor Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with vendors to source the freshest and most innovative organic ingredients.
- Stay Current with Culinary Trends: Stay abreast of current culinary trends and integrate them into the menu when appropriate. Be comfortable working with all animal proteins, produce and ancient grains and have a passion for quality.
- Sustainability Initiatives: Champion sustainable practices in the kitchen, minimizing environmental impact.
- Develop new systems: Assist in developing new systems as we grow our current offerings both on our meal delivery and cafe menu platforms.
You Are a Perfect Fit If You Have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Proven track record of menu development, recipe creation, and food costing expertise.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and mentor a team.
- In-depth knowledge of organic ingredients, cooking techniques, and dietary needs.
- A passion for healthy, sustainable cuisine and an unwavering commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and kitchen management software (preferred).
