The Dedicated Account Manager is critical for the growth of our Freight Forwarding business within the US and Mexico. The position is based out of our branches and support an assigned customer as the operation oversite and be the liaison with sales/customer.
JOB DESCRIPTION
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage account relationships for large and medium customers to ensure excellent customer service is provided
- Develop solutions that best address customer needs, coordinating with other departments and employees as needed, and working constantly with clients to ensure their needs are being met
- Adhere to all government and regulatory compliance standards with regards to AES, customs clearance, ITAR, screening of denied parties and dangerous goods regulations
- Extract and analyze account data and provide sale and service quality data forecast to management
- Create and deliver of MBR and QBR data to meet or exceed global sales and client expectations
- Review account budgets, pricing, quoting, and improving cost effectiveness
- Assist global sales staff and offices with customer relations, resolution of issues, and create client solutions that drive additional business from assigned client(s)
- Determine rates and tariffs as well as establish and negotiate contracts
- Strategically partner with other departments, including Sales, to ensure continual and consistent service is provided
- Expedite the movement of freight to help fulfill the shipper’s transportation requirements.
- Contact vendors and/or claims adjustment departments in order to resolve problems with shipments
- Manage customer order analysis and complex load building
- Provide reporting as requested by the customer
- Liaise with Accounting, Credit, and Settlement Departments to resolve customer inquiries
- Collaborate with Logistics Account Managers to ensure coverage of all loads and maximize carrier opportunities
- Assist sales with rates with customers for transportation and/or brokerage services
- Quote competitive rates, enters complete and accurate load details. Creates relationships with internal and external customers and responds to their requests in a timely manner
- Take accountability for tracking and communicating pertinent information related to customer shipments
- Additional responsibilities and duties as needed
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
- Proven track record in account management, with demonstrated client retention and growth success
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., CRM systems, Excel, logistics software)
- Willingness to travel to meet with clients and attend industry events
- Experience with lean management principles and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred.
