About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Solar/DC power technician to oversee the technical side of customer solutions, and provide meaningful input into the development of new products. This role is based in Raleigh, NC and will be onsite. Our portfolio includes products that are based on lead acid or lithium storage technologies. Ability to travel 20% - 25% as needed.

Qualifications:
- Minimum two years electrical experience in directly related role.
- Knowledge and experience with electrical equipment, including solar modules, charging systems, lead acid batteries, Lithium batteries, AC Systems, DC Systems, and inverters
- Ability to excel in a collaborative, cross-functional and geographically diverse organization
- Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- Ability to effectively summarize information for key decision makers
- Develop and follow through of testing plans of new designs
- Detail-oriented and self-starter on tasks
- Strong computer and software skills – Microsoft Office programs and aptitude for learning new software programs
- Ability to work overtime and non-standard working hours (nights) as needed
- Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into lay speak
Responsibilities
- Support: Remote and in person technical support for customers. Travel to sites as requested; occasional distance or overnight travel
- Solutions: Perform corrective, preventive, and emergency troubleshooting safely and efficiently.
- Development: Develop test plans and documentation for existing products and new products.
- Ideas: Drive new product concepts
- Project Management: Ownership of new product development programs and timelines.
- Constant Learning: Document issues and outcomes, make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Focus on End Users: Update product manuals and user guides regularly.
- Communication: Effectively interface in writing, verbally and in person with customers, vendors and other stakeholders.
- Skills: Well rounded, hands-on abilities with strong technical skills and tool knowledge
- Team player: Strong collaborator, assisting and training others when necessary and appropriate
- Application: Ability to read, implement and/or create electrical drawings
- Stay Nimble: Other tasks as assigned
Other important info:
- Normal plant and/or office environment, including working at heights, high/low ambient temperatures, and high humidity areas
- Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment
- Requires use of personal protective safety equipment (i.e., respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, and more)
- May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals
- Bending and Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist
- Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and other devises using feet and legs and/or hands and arms
- Carrying: Light: Physically transporting items weighing less than 15 pounds from one location to another, Moderate: Items weighing 15 to 44 pounds, Heavy: Items weighing 45 pounds and over
- Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to come to rest on one or both knees
- Light Lifting: Raising objects under 15 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from one position to another
- Moderate Lifting: Objects 15 – 44 pounds
- Heavy Lifting: Objects 45 pounds and over
- Pulling Hand over Hand: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion
- Repetitive motion: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers for sustained periods of time
- Ability to Sit or Stand for sustained periods of time (6+ hours per day)
- Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules of others on short-term basis
- Must be able to use all tools that are required to perform work on mobile solar off-grid light towers and power equipment: Metering devices (multi-meter), hand tools, power tools, etc.
- Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with fingers (including thumb) and palm
- Visual Requirement: Enough to be able to see and read PC screens; detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print (6+ hours per day)
- Hearing Requirement: Enough to clearly hear and understand communication from others
