Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Surgery Scheduler to join our team. As a Surgery Scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for patients. You will work closely with physicians, patients, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective scheduling of surgeries. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule surgeries, procedures, and consultations based on physician and patient availability.
- Coordinate with surgical staff, anesthesia providers, and operating room personnel to ensure all necessary resources are available for each procedure.
- Communicate surgery details, including pre-operative instructions and post-operative follow-up appointments, to patients.
- Verify insurance information and obtain necessary pre-authorizations for surgeries.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of surgical schedules and patient information.
- Handle patient inquiries and concerns related to surgery scheduling.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize scheduling processes and patient care.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a surgery scheduler, medical scheduler, or in a similar role within a healthcare setting. Required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in medical scheduling software preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or education in healthcare administration is a plus.
