Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor position at our Brownwood, TX facility is an integral role within our organization. Reporting directly to the Plant Engineering Manager, the Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance department and ensuring the smooth operation of our facility. Key aspects of this role are managing the employee safety, preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and emergency downtime. This includes developing and implementing maintenance schedules, tracking equipment performance, and coordinating repairs as needed. Additionally, the Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for managing the parts warehouse, ensuring an efficient inventory management system is in place. This will involve ordering and organizing parts, as well as maintaining accurate records of all transactions. The Supervisor will provide guidance and support to the team, ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner. This will require a strong presence on the floor, with approximately 50% to 70% of the time spent in production and maintenance areas.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a solid background in maintenance and strong leadership skills. They should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities are also essential.
As a maintenance supervisor, your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of the Brownwood facility:
1. Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations: It is your responsibility to ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with safety and environmental regulations. This includes conducting regular inspections and audits to identify any potential hazards and taking appropriate action to mitigate risks.
2. Developing and implementing maintenance schedules: You will be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance schedules within the CMMS to ensure that equipment and facilities are properly maintained. This includes planning and coordinating routine maintenance activities, as well as scheduling repairs and replacements as needed.
3. Tracking equipment performance and coordinating repairs: You will need to closely monitor the performance of equipment and facilities under your supervision. This includes using the CMMS to keep track of maintenance records, identifying any recurring issues, and coordinating repairs with maintenance technicians and contractors.
4. Managing the parts warehouse and inventory: As a maintenance supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the parts warehouse and inventory. This includes ensuring that an adequate supply of spare parts is available, conducting regular inventory checks, and coordinating with suppliers to replenish stock as needed.
5. Supervising maintenance technicians and contractors: You will provide supervision and guidance to maintenance technicians and contractors. This includes assigning tasks, monitoring their performance, providing training and development opportunities, and ensuring that work is carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
6. Collaborating with other departments to optimize maintenance processes: To optimize maintenance processes, you will need to collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering. This includes participating in cross-functional meetings, sharing insights and best practices, and implementing improvements to enhance overall efficiency.
7. Providing training and development opportunities for the maintenance team: As a leader, you will be responsible for providing training and development opportunities to your maintenance team. This includes identifying areas for improvement, conducting performance reviews, and offering training programs to enhance their skills and knowledge.
8. Maintaining accurate records and documentation: Accurate record-keeping and documentation are essential in maintenance operations. You will need to maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and any other relevant information. This includes using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track and manage maintenance records.
9. Inspection and oversight of facilities to resolve maintenance/safety-related issues: You will be responsible for conducting regular inspections of facilities to identify and resolve maintenance and safety-related issues. This includes addressing any immediate concerns and developing plans to prevent future issues.
10. Performing other duties as assigned: As a maintenance supervisor, you may be required to perform other duties as assigned by your superiors. This could include participating in special projects, attending meetings, or assisting with emergency response situations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
· At least 5 -10 years of maintenance, electrical and mechanical experience
· Minimum of three years (3) of supervisory experience
· Base knowledge of building systems
· Must be willing to submit a background check and pre-employment drug screening
· Must be eligible to work in the US
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Ability to push, pull, carry, or lift up to 50 lbs.
· Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours
· Ascend/descend a ladder or stairs daily
· Ability to operate a computer and other office technology
· Occasionally position self to access low spaces
· Ability to observe details at close range
· Must be able to relay accurate information via multiple communication vehicles including verbal and written mechanisms
· Must be able to work in extreme hot and cold temperatures
· Must be able to work out of the office during regular business hours
