Position Summary:
The Part-Time (around 30 hours a week) or Full-Time Animal Care Technician is responsible for managing effective and efficient daily operations of our facility in accordance with the organization's mission, philosophy, policies and procedures, and with the safety of people and animals at the forefront of all activities. The primary role of the Animal Care Technician is to oversee animal care and facility maintenance, with some customer service interactions as needed.
Hours Needed:
Full-Time or Part-Time shifts (typically 8 hour shifts) during our business hours.
Monday – Thursday: 7am – 7pm
Friday: 8am – 6pm
Saturday: 8am – 1pm
Sunday: Closed
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of our facility
- Responsible for ensuring storage, holding areas are clean, sanitary, safe, appropriately stocked and orderly.
- Ensures that the maximum standard of care (i.e. food, water, sanitation, safety) is provided to all animals cared for at our facility.
- Some customer service responsibilities
- Kennel care functions, including help holding and restraining animals
- Maintenance functions
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with various aspects of animal care, as needed
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications: A minimum of one year of experience working in a pet care industry is preferred, but not required, as this is an entry-level position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
Skills in communication, ability to make good business decisions regarding the care and welfare of animals, to exercise good judgment when dealing with customers and staff, flexibility to meet the needs of the organization.
Compensation:
$14-17/hour
