JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Loan Officer
FLSA Classification: Full-Time, Non-exempt
Reports to: Lending Manager/Director
Department head: Chief Financial Officer
Overview: The Loan Officer is the front-line point of contact for new accounts and lending Member needs. A successful Loan Officer is well informed of products and services in order to provide individualized Member service, that builds upon serving Member's best interest.
Duties and Responsibilities:
40% Member Service
- Provide courteous, professional, and consultative Member service by completing onsite requests and cross-telling of products of services that may improve the financial health of Thinkwise Members.
- Open new membership onsite and online
- Open new accounts and account maintenance
- Deliver financial counseling where applicable
- Safeguard all Member information onsite and overnight
40% Lending
- Assist Members with the loan applications via both direct and indirect channels
- Conduct interviews with prospective borrowers including analyzing financial and credit data, proof of income and overall credit worthiness and collect-ability
- Maintain high standards and quality of loan funding to ensure compliance, proper accounting and accurate Member service
- Participate in monthly departmental meetings
- Develop knowledge of peripheral products such as: Debt Protection, Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) and Mechanical
- Repair Coverage (MRC) in order to meet member needs.
- Meet monthly/quarterly/annual sales goals as defined by credit union management.
- Secure liens on loan collateral such as auto, recreational and mortgage loans
- Successful registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is required.
10% Compliance
- Adhere to all Thinkwise Credit Union lending, underwriting, deposit limits, and policies and procedures
- Knowledge of local, state and federal financial regulations such as, but not limited to the USA Patriot Act, Equal Credit
- Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Housing Act, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and the Member Identification Program
- Other Duties as assigned.

Pay: From $24.00-26.00 per hour
