We are actively hiring a Facilities Technician!
The Village School is a private college preparatory school for grades Early Childhood through High School. Our High School offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma program and boarding opportunities through the Nord Anglia Boarding program.
Major Responsibilities & Duties:
o Performs minor and major repair of all buildings and equipment. (Major repairs are performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers.)
o Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.
o Cleans and inspects boiler; treats water with proper chemicals.
o Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems.
o Replaces broken windows; repairs doors, door locks and closets; installs window blinds.
o Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
o May operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment and utility systems.
o Repairs electrical equipment and control circuits; replaces faulty electrical switches; repairs refrigeration equipment.
o May install computer cable.
o Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
o Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures.
o Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
o Respond to Emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns
o Other duties may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING:
o High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
o Minimum 1 year working in facilities or construction
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:
Good skills in use of hand and power tools
General facilities knowledge to include but not limited to ADA, OSHA, LEED, APPA standards
Experience or combination of education with MEP, Life Safety, Carpentry and Painting functions in facilities
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and emails. Ability to communicate verbally in english
