Position Summary
This is a hybrid position located in Washington, D.C.
NCC is seeking a Senior Science Writer/Editor for an upcoming Task Order with the DoJ. This is an opportunity to grow, make a difference, and significantly advance your career, your impact, and your capabilities.
Key Areas of Responsibility

Producing high-quality, plain language, content across various formats.

Understand sophisticated scientific methods and the application of science to law enforcement issues.

Write about the implications of the science for professionals who work in law enforcement or elected officials who make policies that affect criminal justice.

Translating complex scientific materials into plain language for non-scientific audiences.

Using plain language to describe scientific findings from peer-reviewed academic journals, making them accessible to executive-level leaders without scientific backgrounds.

Working closely with subject matter experts, including federal and contract staff. This will include, but not limited to, the following:

Attending Staff Meetings (virtually or in-person).

Interviewing and working with Subject Matter Experts in drafting, reviewing, and revising content.

Attending agency workshops and presentations.
Minimum Requirements
-
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.

5+ years of relevant work experience writing and editing publications and various documents.

Excellent writing skills and knowledge of style guidelines.
