Job Title: Counter Sales Associate
Classification: Full-Time, Non-exempt
Supervisor: Store Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Promptly assist customers at the sales counter, or on the telephone, professionally and pleasantly by answering questions and providing information through excellent customer service. Conduct yourself in a professional and ethical manner at all times while treating customers and associates with courtesy and respect. Perform data entry and retrieval on computer system, including entering of customer orders, store transfers, inventory information, and product pricing. Performs all job responsibilities in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
Know location of merchandise within the store, and continuously stay up to date on product knowledge through any available resources. Effectively communicate to customers any relevant policies and/or procedures regarding purchases, and returns, and stay informed as to product inventory and availability at other stores. Ensure material is properly organized and maintain clear isles and walkways. Assist in maintaining appearance of store by straightening shelves, cleaning counter area, and other areas of the store as needed. Perform all duties in a safe manner, following all safety rules, and inform management of any potentially hazardous conditions. Assist in year-end physical inventories.
Abilities and Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks using excellent verbal and written communication skills to accurately complete all documentation of sales. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, carry, or reach, and is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, and bend. The employee is required to use a Window-based Point of Sale Computer system for all retail sales transactions. Additionally, the employee will use a copier machine, calculator, and fax machine on a daily basis. As part of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 lbs., frequently lift up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
Salary for this position will be based on a candidate’s level of experience, education, and qualifications.
