Pathways.org is seeking a creative, energetic, motivated senior digital content specialist to join our organization and help spread parent-friendly information on children’s development. If you are a person who is passionate about health education and believes every parent should have access to information on their child’s health and development than this position is for you.
Using creativity and writing skills you will help create content including articles, website pages, scripts, and courses to help parents gain a better understanding of their baby’s development.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Take initiative planning and creating web pages, articles, and other written content.
- Review complex medical information and turn it into parent-friendly, easy-to-understand wording
- Think outside of the box to find creative solutions to reaching audiences and enhancing impact

The Content Specialist will demonstrate Shirley Ryan AbilityLab Core Attributes: Communication, Accountability, Flexibility/Adaptability, Judgment/Problem Solving, Customer Service and Core Values (Hope, Compassion, Discovery, Collaboration, & Commitment to Excellence) while fulfilling job duties.
Principal Responsibilities
- Create user-centered written content including articles, webpages, video scripts, and more
- Think creatively about word choice and phrasing
- Collaborate with team to plan and coordinate new topic ideas
- Ensure information produced by Pathways.org is current and regularly updated to keep the site fresh and interesting
- Keep up to date on the latest information in baby/child development
- Maintain consistency with voice, tone, and phrasing across written content
- Take technical and medical information and rewrite in a fun and engaging way
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Pathways.org is seeking a self-started with an entrepreneurial spirit who can help create and optimize content.
Reporting Relationships
Reports directly to Senior Communications Manager
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- 4-6 years experience in communications, marketing, or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Able to present concepts clearly and accurately and to keep others informed
- Basic understanding of web analytics, pay-per-click advertising , and SEO best practices
- Self-starting, capable of working independently while also functioning and contributing as part of a fast-paced team
- Organized and able to prioritize projects and meet multiple deadlines
- Abilities preferred but not required: Notion, Canva, In-design and Photoshop
Working Conditions
- Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
- Hybrid position Tues, Wed, Thurs in office at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab
