This position includes general janitorial functions and some light groundskeeping duties. A valid Michigan Drivers' License is required due to travel to and from various County buildings. Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager and other supervisory staff, performs a variety of preventative maintenance and repair tasks on County facilities and equipment. Makes routine repairs to electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, and assists with major repairs, carpentry, and construction projects

Essential functions Include but are not limited to:
1. Clean and maintain County building appearances inside and outside on a daily basis (bathrooms, meeting rooms, walkways, common areas, etc.).
2. Uses steaming equipment to remove bed bugs from carpets, upholstered chairs and partitions.
3. May perform or assist in general repairs, installation and or maintenance to County buildings, fixtures, and equipment.
4. May perform grounds maintenance functions such as shoveling snow, spreading salt, and related grounds tasks.
5. May operates a motor vehicle to deliver mail, supplies, pick up freight, and make other deliveries.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:
Education: High school graduation or equivalent. Prefer some skills training in electrical, plumbing and other building trade areas.
Experience: One year of experience in the maintenance and repair of building and mechanical systems.
Other Requirements: Possession of a valid Michigan Drivers License. Requires basic computer skills for work order ticket system and email. Must have the ability to operate automated floor scrubber, steamer, carpet extractor, and floor buffer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Walks over uneven terrain to make repairs.
- Squatting, stooping, kneeling to maintain and repair facilities and equipment.
- Reaching, repetitive forward and backward motion to clean/vacuum.
- Repetitive rotating motions to clean/scrub/wipe/use of equipment.
- Repetitive gripping and twisting related to wiping, spraying, and other small motor movements.
- Ability to read cleaning chemical labels.
- Climbing ladders and scaffolding to paint or make repairs.
- Lifting ability to remove and replace parts on building mechanical systems.
- Ability to lift, push and pull office furniture.
- Ability to lift boxes of supplies, equipment, and other items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to lift and move plumbing fixtures and other equipment involved in repair tasks.
