Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with mental health disorders
- Implement treatment plans and interventions to individuals receiving treatment for mental health or substance use disorders
- Assist in crisis management and de-escalation techniques
- Monitor the use of psychotropic medications prescribed to
- Conduct data collection and maintain accurate records of client progress
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Facilitate group therapy sessions and educational programs
- Assist in behavior management and intervention strategies
- Conduct clinical assessments to perspective serviced individuals
Skills:
- Proficiency in crisis management and de-escalation techniques
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology and medication administration
- Familiarity with special education principles and practices
- Ability to provide child and family counseling services
- Strong skills in mental health counseling and therapy modalities
- Experience in data collection and analysis for treatment planning
- Proficient in behavior management techniques and intervention strategies
- Knowledge of clinical research methodologies and ethics
- Understanding of addiction counseling principles and practices
Must be licensed as a licensed mental health professional (or type) by the Virginia Board of Counseling.
