Job Summary:
TheDairy Clerk supports the Dairy Lead in meeting sales and profit goals in the department. This is accomplishedthrough providing exceptional customer service byway ofkeeping the department properly stocked and organizedin order to provide optimalproductqualityand shopping experience toour valued customers.
Essential Functions of the Position:
Helps to maintainproper receiving, storingand stocking of productaccording to company protocols.
Follows proper product rotationpracticesto maintainproduct quality standards and customer satisfaction.
Reviews product code dates and follows company procedures in addressing out of code product.
Takes product to applicable designated work spaceand organizes appropriately.
Maintains a clean and organized workspace.
Maintains damaged and spoiled productin accordance withcompany policies and procedures.
Helps to monitor proper temperatures in cases and coolers and reports any concerns or issues to department Lead and/or Store Management in a timely manner.
Able to perform duties of a GeneralGrocery Clerk as needed.
Comply withall company safety policies and adheresto all local, stateand federal laws and regulations.
Observes and follows all company policies.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities:
1+ years of Grocery Clerk experience preferred.
Ability to gain and maintainknowledge of products sold in the department.
Familiarity with product movement to maintainappropriate stocklevels.
Ability to follow company protocols for receiving productto ensure product quality standards and accuracy of quantity.
Good verbal and communication skills to provide excellent customer service.
Ability to work scheduled shifts as needed.
Ability to follow all safety protocols including food safety and properly utilizingand maintaining necessary equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to reach, feel and manipulate product.
Ability to stand for long periodsof time.
Occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch
Ability to lift upto 50lbs.
Ability to push/pull utilizingnecessary euipment
Hand eye coordination and dexterity to properly utilize equipment to stock refrigerated sections of departments as well as displays.
Work Conditions:
Standard Work Hours: Typically, every day of the week including weekends and holidayswith occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
Workenvironment includes refrigerated storage areas and relatively dampor humid conditions including wet or slippery floor surfaces.
Noise levels are typically moderate but can be extremely noisy if a need arises to check on refrigeration or enter the compressor/machine room.
Dress Code: Professional and presentable, allowing for working in colder environment and utilizingsafety toe shoes.
