About the Position:
The Director of OSP Fiber, will fiber splice, place and test lead, directs, and coaches our fiber splicing teams. This role will be responsible for mentoring our fiber splicing teams, ensuring safe work practices, driving production, delivering quality in accordance with industry and customer standards, meeting project schedule, and driving successful close out of service areas. This is a full-time, primarily remote opportunity.
What you will do:

Partner with corporate safety team to set and drive our safety culture.

Serve as a steward of our culture.

Lead, coach, and develop our self-perform fiber splicing teams with a specific emphasis on safety and production. Position will have approximately 15 reports in chain (1 Manager, 2 Supervisors, and 6 two-person Splice and Test Crews).

Work closely with the National Director, Fiber Splicing to establish project Key
Performance Indicators that tie to financial budgets. -
Drive fiber splicing teams to meet or exceed established safety and production Key Performance Indicators.

Direct and manage teams responsible for fiber placement, splicing, and testing of all underground fiber facilities.

Work with Construction Managers to develop schedules for cable placing, fiber splicing, terminating, and testing of OSP fiber network.

Work closely with internal recruiting teams to evaluate, pre-qualify, and select members for self-perform Splice and Test crews.

Recruit, evaluate, pre-qualify, and select subcontract splicers to augment Tilson selfperform capacity.

Drive internal test teams to capture all required deliverables (within acceptable customer specifications) to deliver successful closeout of service areas.

Drive internal test teams to capture all required test results (within acceptable customer specifications) to deliver successful closeout of service areas.

Coordinate with Project and Construction managers to deploy resources into in-progress construction service areas to meet market schedule delivery.

Oversee market Fiber Quality Assurance Program.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, residents, and jurisdictional officials.
Qualifications:
-
Displays exceptional leadership and promotes culture, delivers on required objectives, and develops team leaders.

Minimum of 7 years' experience leading OSP Fiber Splice and Test teams.

Comfort with electronic tolls and automation. Tilson is largely a paperless environment that leverages technology.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Exceptional knowledge of industry technology standards.

Deep knowledge of required splice and test tools, power meters, Sumitomo fusion splicers, and EXFO OTDR's.

Exceptional knowledge of safety practices in accordance with OSHA and industry
standards. -
Bachelor's degree preferred. Will consider relevant combination of industry certifications
and relevant experience. -
Must be willing to travel to Ohio monthly.
