This role provides a leadership opportunity to help scale USEFULL, through our product offerings, on both the app and technical side and the physical product side.
The Product Manager coordinates with our clients, suppliers, developers and executive leadership and is responsible for the planning, managing, and launching of varying new products - both technical (web, app, API-based) and physical. This position manages cross-functional teams and is responsible for the development and production schedule and timeline. The Product Manager also ensures that quality and USEFULL brand standards are maintained.
The ideal candidate for this position has experience in both technical product management and consumer packaged goods - have you ever created an air cleaner that also had an app component? This job is for you! This role is based in Boston, MA with optional remote work a few days a week and occasional travel to client sites expected. This position will require:In your role as the USEFULL Product Manager, you will gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps,generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth. The responsibilities for this role include:
- Creating buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
- Developing product pricing and positioning strategies
- Translating product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes
- Scoping and prioritizing activities based on business and customer impact
- Working closely with engineering teams in the US and elsewhere to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
- Collaborating with executive management and internal stakeholders to develop new product offerings.
- Driving product launches including working with marketing team, public relations team, executives, and other product management team members
- Evaluating promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
- Acting as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
- Representing the company by visiting customers and trade shows to solicit feedback on company products and services
- Developing a deep understanding of the reuse market and conduct routine competitive analysis
- Researching and track new technologies in the reuse space and report findings to executive management
Requirements and skills:
- Proven work experience in product management or as an associate product manager
- Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
- Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
- Solid background working with industrial designers and translating ideas into action items
- Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job
- Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Concurrently work on multiple client projects.
- Work across multiple time zones.
- Work will require travel and working outside of normal business hours at times.
