Reports To: Accounting Lead
Hours: Monday- Friday 8 am- 6 pm
Pay and Benefits:
The pay rate for this position is $19.00/hour.

Description:
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for performing accounting and clerical duties including, but not limited to, preparing accounting reports and spreadsheets, reconciling deposits, balancing spreadsheets, and processing account adjustments, as well as maintaining the inventory of office supplies and ordering supplies when needed.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Perform basic accounting and clerical functions including, but not limited to processing check requests, account adjustments, payment postings, account reconciliation and preparing bank deposits.

Prepare balance sheets, journal entries, accounting reports and spreadsheets for records maintenance and analysis.

Record business transactions and accounting journal entries for approval and research; track and resolve discrepancies in accounting ledger.

Maintain customer account information and generate notifications pertaining to monetary transactions.

Inventory, order and distribute office supplies.
-
Sort and distribute incoming mail to be processed.
-
Identify problems with office equipment and systems and communicate or escalate these issues to the proper area for resolution.

Maintain a high standard of adherence to company policies. Recommend changes to existing policies and procedures to improve operations and to support changing business requirements.

Other job-related duties as required.
Required Education and Experience:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent education
-
Payment processing skills preferred (cashier/bank teller) with demonstrated call center and/or customer support experience.

Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office Word and Excel, basic proficiency using Microsoft Office Outlook.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to review and analyze data and communicate solutions.

Require superior attention to detail and professional in appearance.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-
No accounting experience required

Ability to use a calculator

Knowledge of laws, regulations, principles and procedures reflective of the accounting and financial services industry.

Knowledge of business practices pertaining to financial recordkeeping, resource allocation, and budgeting.

Knowledge of basic arithmetic for accounting purposes.

Skill in alphanumeric data entry.

Skill in communicating to persons representing varied educational levels and cultural backgrounds.

Skill at exercising tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex, and confidential issues and situations.

Skill in keeping financial records in order to maintain confidentiality and track documents and payments. Skill in exercising accuracy and thoroughness and monitoring one’s own work to ensure quality.

Skill in time management, including prioritizing, organizing, and coordinating multiple work areas and assignments under fast paced and changing conditions to meet deadlines.
