POSITION DESCRIPTION
A Tax Manger is a member of the Client Service Team and is a liaison between partners, clients and staff members. They will be responsible for preparing and reviewing tax returns and consulting projects. As Senior/Supervisor you will supervise staff and coordinate engagement workflow and progress. You will be responsible for managing staff time and engagement budgets, as well as reviewing tax returns of those you supervise. The Senior/Supervisor helps to coach and train staff members, as well as, begins to develop relationships with referral sources and potential future clients.
POSITION-RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES
The Tax Manager can expect to focus in the following areas:
* Preparation and reviews of various income tax returns for assigned clients, including individual, fiduciary, partnership, corporate, multi-state, etc.
* Recognizes, anticipates, and resolves complex tax issues and make recommendations
* Research technical tax issues
* Mentors and leads staff and provides training for new and existing staff.
* Assists in manages existing client relationships and supports business development efforts
* Understands and effectively uses current tax and accounting software applications when completing engagements.
* Participates and becomes involved in professional associations and community activities.
* Perform other duties as assigned by partners.
* Provide excellent client service—maintaining client relationships by serving as a liason for the client, promptly troubleshooting and resolving client issues
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
5+ years Public Accounting experience, including preparation of tax returns.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required or currently obtaining CPA license
Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
Ability to work effectively with staff members, clients, and partners
