DUTIES
- You will operate gasoline, diesel, or electric powered cranes to lift, move and position heavy loads.
- You will store, stack and palletize items with a crane based on consideration of use, size, shape, weight, quantity and safety to others.
- You will use load charts to determine crane's lifting capacity in relation to the position of the boom and to compensate for variations in a cranes lifting capacity

You must demonstrate the following:
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: M*_ust possess a Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Note: You must attach a copy of the license to your application to be considered for the position*_
1) Operating boom cranes to load, unload, move and position material with restricted maneuver ability requiring critical accuracy;
2) Determining the weight of the load to be lifted;
3) Rigging loads to be lifted by boom cranes.
4) Performing required operator's maintenance, inspections, and reporting; and
5) Working from hand, radio or other approved types of signals for crane operations.

For the WG 10 Level:
1) Demonstrating skill and knowledge to assist with planning, lay out, assembly and installation for rigging work;
2) Following instructions to select and attach various types and sizes of slings, wire rope, manila rope, chain, or shackles to safely make lifts; and
3) Ensuring work assignments are performed in accordance with established standards and safety regulations.
WG-11/12:
- Operating boom cranes to load, unload, move and position material with restricted maneuver ability requiring critical accuracy;
- Determining the weight of the load to be lifted;
- Rigging loads to be lifted by boom cranes.
- Performing required operator's maintenance, inspections, and reporting; and
- Working from hand, radio or other approved types of signals for crane operations.
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is a valid Commercial Driver's License issued by the Motor Vehicle Department for equipment in excess of 26,001 pounds capacity .Applicants must meet the requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations (X-118C). - The incumbent may be assigned to perform tasks in non-trade related fields as an assistant/helper as workload requires.
- This position is designated as "Essential" and the incumbent will be required to report during emergencies and inclement weather, unless otherwise directed.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
