Advanced Obstetrics & Gynecology is recruiting a full-time Clinical Staff (Certified Medical Assistant or LPN) to join our skillful, professional, and energetic team to provide exemplary customer service to our patients. Our practice continues to grow, and we are looking for the right candidate who share our values of providing compassionate care to our patients. Advanced OBGYN is a premiere OB/GYN practice and has 4 locations in the Hunterdon/Somerset County in NJ.
NextGen and other EHR experience. Spanish speaking is a plus.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Clinical Staff is primarily responsible for enhancing the overall efficiency of the Advanced Obstetrics & Gynecology, LLC practices. The Clinical Staff will assist the physicians/providers with clinical procedures and provide assistance through proper patient flow, diagnostic testing, blood drawing, and specimen processing.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
· Assists in the opening procedures for practice. Prepares exam rooms with supplies and makes sure they are set up to perform procedures.
· Escorts patients to exam rooms. Assesses the physical status of the patient through personal observation and interview. Assists doctor with procedures.
· Records patient history on new or established patient intake form as indicated.
· Takes patients vitals and records. Acts as patient advocate in the coordination of patient care.
· Reports and documents all information accurately and in a timely manner.
· Identifies goals for the individual patient and communicates these goals to others involved in the patient’s care. Utilizes professional judgment, takes action to implement the patient care plan and resolves the problems identified for the individual patient.
· Provides patient with education which can be printed material or verbal communication for new pre-natal, breast exams, bone and heart health, pre-op education, biopsies, etc.
· Perform NST’s and lab work as needed. Blood draws, urine tests, culture preparations, etc. and prepares lab vouchers accurately for specimens to be sent to the outside labs.
· Schedules patients when receptionist is not available or for immediate need., Coordinates and monitors appointments for timeliness and appropriateness for the day.
· Communicates a positive and caring attitude toward patients, peers, staff and all other contacts.
· Gains knowledge of all equipment and supplies. Should be familiar with location of supplies and equipment.
· Triage patients and responds as required per protocol.
· Demonstrates understanding and interpretation of diagnostic testing, i.e., lab results, radiology exams, etc. so that return calls can be made to patients regarding test results.
· Calls in prescriptions and refills to correct pharmacy.
· Seeks guidance, directions and assistance where needed. Follows Practice Policies and Procedures at all times.
· Retrieves final lab reports from computers. Logs in labs. Screens for abnormal results and refers to doctor promptly.
· Assists patients with referrals and recommended specialists to other facilities.
· Works with labs as requested.
· Assists in the closing of the practice for the current day. Cleans rooms, restocks supplies, washes, and loads autoclave for instrument sterilization.
· Ensures that all emergent calls have been returned to the patients and all prescriptions have been called in to the correct pharmacies.
· Keeps up to date with educational materials and activities.
· Maintains confidentiality of all patient and practice communications and documents.
· Performed other duties as assigned.
