EASTERN EXTERIOR WALL SYSTEMS OVERVIEW
Eastern Exterior Wall Systems (EEWS) designs, fabricates and installs exterior walls on buildings throughout the Middle-Atlantic Region. EEWS is one of two construction operating companies that is owned by Marcon Enterprises, a third-generation family owned and operated holding company, based in Allentown, PA.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs construction take-offs by analyzing drawings to calculate required materials necessary for each project. Oversees the sourcing, receipt, and inventory of materials essential to manufacture each project. Works alongside Director of Manufacturing to support daily operations requiring accurate estimate of project materials. This includes the research of material suppliers, calculating quantities, conducting cost comparisons, maintaining lead-times and control inventory to meet budget.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Complete accurate and concise estimates of required materials needed to effectively procure and manufacture projects onsite.
· Use computer-based software (Revit) to accurately read construction drawings to obtain take off quantities, and project measurements.
· Review specifications and drawings to understand project complexity to procure materials.
· Obtain material and sub-contractor pricing for the proposed project through competitive quotes and negotiated terms.
· Support Project Manager & Coordinator by ensuring materials, negotiated pricing, delivery methods, scheduling, and timing meet project milestone dates.
· Support Project Managers and DED to align on approved bill of material (BOM) for each project to ensure accuracy when procuring materials.
· Validate quantities from approved shop drawings, panel sketches, blueprints, etc. to ensure budgets are maintained and project requirements met.
· Supports Project Coordinator with the purchase of materials as needed for manufacturing projects including but not limited to field applied materials.
· As required, supports the Director of Manufacturing to validate cost and minimize purchase price variances (PPV).
· Manages & tracks the accuracy of site inventory while ensuring a standard for quality control. Oversees inventory management of both shop and project required materials.
· Creates visual management of materials to maintain necessary inventory levels to operate manufacturing shop efficiently; this includes MRO, commodities, and project materials.
MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
· High School Graduate with some College; bachelor’s degree a plus
· Certification in Supply chain management or Inventory control a plus (IE: APICS)
· Five (5) years in the construction business, much of which has been in procurement/purchasing and/or inventory management.
SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS
· Ability to read and understand construction plans & drawings.
· Ability to prioritize estimating tasks to support business workflow to meet schedules.
· Ability to perform material takeoffs accurately & efficiently.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
· Excellent negotiation skills
· Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little supervision
· Excellent computer skills and the willingness to learn company created software for managing projects.
· Excellent time management
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
