Job Description:
FFA Social Worker at a private, non-profit foster family agency.
- Manage a caseload of children ages 0-8 years placed with Angels foster families.
- Communicate relevant information to the county social worker. Obtains required documentation and information from county worker in order to meet the child’s needs.
- Works as a team with county social worker, foster parent and other treatment providers (i.e. developmental specialist, nurses, doctors, pre-school teachers) to facilitate the best interests of the child.
- Provide weekly home visits to families to monitor children’s development and help support foster families.
- Provide quarterly reports and service plans for children placed in foster homes.
- Attend team meetings and court with foster parents as needed.
- Mediate situations involving conflicts between county social workers, treatment providers and/or foster parents/bio parents.
- Facilitate/Co-facilitates Angels specialized foster parent training, orientations, support groups, etc.
- Comply with licensing regulations, mandated reporting requirements and agency standards.
- Provide liaison services to county and state agencies, schools, personnel, clients and their relatives, Angels parents, and the community.
- Be available by cell phone for any serious emergency or other situation requiring immediate attention of an Administrator.
- Perform any other duties that may be necessary or in the best interests of the agency.
- Ensures confidential and complete maintenance of client files.
- Meet weekly with supervisor.

Job Requirement:
- A master's degree or higher from an accredited or state-approved graduate school in social work or social welfare, marriage, family, and child counseling, child psychology, child development, counseling psychology, social psychology, clinical psychology, educational psychology, education with an emphasis on counseling
- Knowledge of Child Development- Strong skills in interviewing, rapport building and assessment
- Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with other service providers and agency staff.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines, good time management
- Must share the agency’s mission of promoting anti-racism and supporting transracial / transcultural placements through providing resources, education, and specialized support to resource families, in support of the best interest, safety, and well-being of the child(ren) in care.
- Must share the agency’s mission of promoting sensitivity to the needs of LGBTQ+ children, in support of the best interest, safety, and well-being of the child(ren) in care.
- Reliable transportation and flexible in accommodating clients’ schedules
- Successful completion of pre-employment clearances and paperwork (fingerprints, driving record, etc)
- Bilingual preferred, but not required
- Registration with the State of California as an ASW or AMFT or APCC preferred, but not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $66,560.00 - $68,141.00 per year
