We are currently hiring an Industrial Ammonia Refrigeration Technician at our temperature-controlled food grade distribution center in Apopka, Florida.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of a high school diploma/GED equivalency.
- Minimum of 5 years industrial ammonia refrigeration experience in operating and troubleshooting.
- Preferred also to have 2 years maintenance experience, air compressors, electrical systems (up to 460 V)
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to recognize defective parts and to distinguish machine sounds, to detect potential mechanical issues.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, to work on elevated surfaces and work in extreme temperatures and noise levels.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand instructions given in English.
- Required to work holidays as needed.
- Required to work facility shutdowns.
- Ability to work eight-hour shifts, 12-hour shifts, day or night shift, or other work schedules as determined by business need, including overtime as required.
Essential Duties:
- Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot ammonia refrigeration system.
- Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot facility compressed air systems.
- Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot facility ventilation fans.
- Use computer and associated software to operate facility utility equipment.
- Restore plant utilities, to include up to 460 VAC power distribution systems, after power outages.
- Using CMMS program to accurately complete preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and projects.
- Working with warehouse leaders to improve efficiency of equipment.
- Reporting to Regional Maintenance Manager on the completion of any assigned tasks.
- Maintains good housekeeping practices in the shop and equipment room.
- Walking entirety of roof inspecting equipment and investigating for leaks as scheduled.
- Assisting with repairs and maintenance to facility building.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a cold storage facility. Work involves exposure to temperature extremes, high noise levels, heights, dust, moving equipment, vibrations, and vapors.
Summary:
Maintain facility equipment including ammonia refrigeration system, air compressors, electrical systems, and piping. Direct and track contractor needs, and activities as directed by management. Perform all tasks in a safe and timely manner to ensure achievement of Quality, Service, and Cost objectives. Comply with all standard operating procedures and requirements under Cold-Link Logistics guidelines, and with all regulations (local to federal).
