Job Title: Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology
Location: Rochester, NY
Salary: $82/hour - $3280/week
Shift pattern: 40 hours/week (4x10s)
Required: NY License, 2 Years Experience, BLS, ACLS
Responsibilities/Duties
- Provide pre- and post-procedure care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
- Collaborate with the radiology team to assess patient needs and ensure appropriate care and procedures are planned and executed.
- Administer medications and continuously monitor patients during procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times.
- Assist with the positioning and preparation of patients for procedures, including sterilization, draping, and other necessary tasks.
- Operate and troubleshoot complex equipment used in interventional radiology, ensuring optimal functionality and quality imaging.
- Document and maintain accurate patient records, including vital signs, medications administered, and any other relevant information.
- Educate patients and their families about the procedure, expected outcomes, and follow-up care to promote patient understanding and cooperation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as radiologists, technologists, and support staff, to ensure seamless coordination of care and efficient workflow.
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment to minimize risks of cross-contamination and infection.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in interventional radiology or a related field; strong knowledge and understanding of interventional radiology procedures and equipment.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Proficient computer skills and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
