Full time Mental Health Counselor for Batavia and Albion, NY 820 programs
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: The Mental Health Counselor will provide direct mental health services to UConnectCare Part 820 clients in both the Albion Women’s and Children Center and Genesee Atwater program via individual, family and group counseling.
* Responsible for, but not limited to, providing direct diagnostic evaluative services to clients in the Residential 820 programs to assess the client’s primary and secondary diagnosis and, thus, need for further counseling.
* Supply identified client’s direct therapeutic services through individual, conjoint, family and/or group therapy.
* Manage a caseload of Part 820 residents who have Co-occurring Substance Use and Mental Health diagnoses.
* Maintain records in compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse persons, staff and community service providers.
* Knowledge of local behavioral health service system.
* Ability to multi-task, have good problem solving & time management skills and the ability to remain calm in a crisis.
* Maintain accurate, efficient and timely documentation of participant interactions and progress notes, with a focus on accurately collecting data for programmatic research purposes.
* Contribute to the knowledge base of the agency and the profession by attending ongoing and up to date relevant trainings associated with recovery services.
* Additional duties may be assigned based on program needs.
Minimum Qualifications: Masters level education in the appropriate field with ability with licensure or ability to immediately gain provisional status within 6 months of hire. Valid NYS Driver’s License. Licensed as a LMHC, LMSW, or LCSW, LCAT preferred. Proficiency in using computer software applications such as Microsoft Office suite, email, EMR (10e11) and other systems. Must be addiction free, including tobacco. Pre-employment background check/post offer drug screening required. This is salaried nonexempt job. EOE. CARF & NHSC Accredited.
Reporting Relationship: This position is under the supervision of the Chief Clinical officer.
